“Snowmobile Safety Week is about the ways safe and responsible snowmobiling is essential to the continued enjoyment of the sport,” said Sherri Peterson with the Utah State OHV Program. “Snowmobiling is a popular recreational activity that provides families the opportunity to enjoy the Utah winter wonderland.”
The discount will be available January 18, beginning at 12:00 a.m. through Jan. 24 at 11:59 p.m. Students will be able to receive the discount with the code G1SNOWMBEDSFTY15.
Snowmobiling is a popular and fun winter activity, but it brings extra risks and safety concerns, including avalanches, dangerous ice, and collision dangers. Snowmobile-Ed addresses these dangers with interactive instructional animations and award-winning videos in this Utah State Parks-approved course.
The online snowmobile license course teaches students everything they must know to be safe, ethical, responsible snowmobilers in compliance with all state legal requirements. The course can be stopped and started and completed on a smartphone, computer, tablet, or e-reader.
After completing the online course, Utah residents will be able to print a temporary certificate and be right on the snow. Anyone can take the course, but it is required for persons under 16 years old who ride on public lands in Utah.
According to the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association, there are 1.4 million registered snowmobiles in the United States, and 594,276 in Canada. Snowmobiles are used for recreation, as well as transportation and work-related functions.
Snowmobile-Ed offers state-approved snowmobile safety courses for 9 U.S. states and British Columbia. Find your course at http://snowmobile-ed.com/.
