Four of Monroe Street Market's most highly-anticipated tenants announce official opening dates.

The Bozzuto Group, a Greenbelt, Md.-based real estate services company and Abdo Development, a Washington D.C.-based development and construction company, today announced the opening dates of four highly-anticipated tenants at Monroe Street Market, a mixed-use community in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

Busboys and Poets’ owner Andy Shallal opened his fifth location at Monroe Street Market on December 31, 2014, bringing a unique dining experience that is cool, comfortable, and casual, perfect for the creative minds living in and around Brookland. This location is the first to partner with Politics and Prose, a small bookshop at the front-end of the restaurant that is equipped with knowledgeable staff and a selection of fiction, non-fiction, history, biographical, teen, and children's books. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch and dinner, with its first brunch on January 17 starting at 9am.

Hälsa opened its first location at Monroe Street Market on January 12, 2015. Each day, the restaurant prepares globally inspired, locally sourced, healthy fast food. Hälsa is passionate about eating seasonally and using high-quality ingredients to create the best tasting and most nutrient dense foods. Join Hälsa on an exploration of health, looking to ancient remedies and modern discoveries to shape what’s on our plate. Hälsa’s hours are Monday - Saturday 10am - 9pm, Sunday 10am - 3pm.

In February, The Bike Rack and Filter Coffeehouse and Espresso Bar will open a shared space on the Arts Walk, directly across from Brookland Pint. The Bike Rack’s second shop in the District will offer a wide variety of cycling needs including repairs, a diverse bicycle inventory, riding events, and active involvement in cycling advocacy. Filter Coffeehouse and Espresso Bar will create a unique atmosphere for bike enthusiasts and coffee lovers alike, providing a daily assortment of coffee, teas, and pastries.

"We’re pleased to see these wonderful retailers open their doors to the Brookland and Edgewood communities," said Toby Bozzuto, president, The Bozzuto Group. "They each add to the unique, diversified retail options already here at Monroe Street Market and we are proud to welcome them to our community."
