The short break specialist also revealed that customers planning Valentine’s Day breaks are more likely to book last minute, with 41% of bookings for 2014 made in the last 4-weeks leading up to the occasion. This year’s sales for the firm are already looking encouraging as they report a +14% increase in revenue during the first two weeks of January compared to the same period last year.
Valentine’s Day breaks in 2014 saw London, Paris and Edinburgh as the most popular destinations booked through the tour operator, with 2015 already showing a similar trend. The firm’s 3rd highest grossing destination booked so far for a short break over the Valentine’s Day period is Reykjavik, showing that customers are not averse to choosing alternative romantic destinations over popular traditional ones.
