Shift Labs Introduces DripAssist™ IV Flow Rate Monitor
Seattle, Washington (PRWEB) January 20, 2015 -- Shift Labs today launched DripAssist™, a portable IV infusion flow rate monitor, at the NAVC conference in Orlando, Florida. DripAssist ™ is a new product that brings accurate, quick and economical IV flow rate monitoring.
Accurate, easy, affordable: DripAssist™
DripAssist™ is a compact, portable and reusable instrument that quickly provides accurate readings of intravenous dosing for gravity fed fluid or blood administration. Its ergonomic design and easy-to-use layout make setting IV flow rates simple and safe. DripAssist™ allows a clinic worker to set and monitor precision flow rates comparable to those achieved with common IV pumps, but without the extra cost and complexity. Once attached to the drip chamber of an infusion set, the flow rate is read by the DripAssist™ digital eye as fluid flows through the chamber. An LED screen clearly displays the flow rate, pre-calculated to any of three preferred units: mL per hour, drops per minute and total volume dosed. DripAssist™ also features an alarm setting that can be activated to alert when the drip rate deviates significantly from the set rate.
DripAssist™ can be used with most tubing sets and calibrated for the four most common sizes (10, 15, 20, and 60 gtt/mL) used for fluid infusion or blood transfusion. DripAssist™ is a safe alternative to transfusing blood with pumps and does not damage the red blood cells during use. Each unit is powered by a single AA battery that lasts up to two weeks running 24 hours a day
“At Shift Labs, we build affordable simplicity. Veterinary practices work hard to provide great care for animals, and we’re excited to introduce a product that can help them save lives at the same time they’re able to save money,” said Beth Kolko, CEO of Shift Labs. “We want to be a partner in helping them reduce unnecessary costs and be more efficient, which means they can spend more time with their patients. We believe that great engineering paired with great design can really change how patient care is delivered.”
DripAssist™ can be used in most veterinary clinical settings including Hospitals, MRI machines, surgical sites, research labs, field sites and, because of its size and portability, in emergency settings and during animal transport.
When clinicians need accurate flow rate monitoring with an alarm at an economical price, they can rely on DripAssist™. DripAssist™ will be highlighted at NAVC in the New Product Gallery in the Gaylord Center and will be displayed at booth 707.
DripAssist™ is pending FDA approval and is currently available worldwide for veterinary use.
