10th Annual Klimahouse Showcases Advances in Sustainable Building
New York, NY (PRWEB) January 21, 2015 -- The 10th annual International Klimahouse Exhibition is set to showcase the newest advances in sustainable living from January 29 to February 1, 2015, in South Tyrol, Italy. This year’s fair will focus on sustainable acoustic building materials. Nearly 400 companies will present their ideas and latest technologies to 40,000 architects, designers, builders, research centers and universities at the Fiera Bolzano/Messe Bozen.
Klimahouse 2015 will feature three keynote speakers: university professor and architect, Chiara Tonelli, winner of the Solar Decathlon Europe; world famous Italian architect, Mario Cuccinella; and Wolfgang Feist, the creator of the concept for sustainable houses. A variety of other industry experts from Italy and Northern Europe will also present at the conference.
Gernot Rössler, President of Fiera Bolzano, the trade fair organizer for Klimahouse, shares his event philosophy: “Seize the future with a new attitude and an eye for what is to come. Sustainable construction and energy conservation are the real challenges of our century,” continues Mr. Rössler. “We must consume less and build in environmentally friendly ways. Klimahouse continues to take pride in stimulating the economy and investing in research and innovation.”
Registered attendees can expect simple, interactive and sensory-filled experiences; numerous conferences, workshops, and guided tours; and photo exhibits of top energy efficient Klimahouse buildings. On one such tour, participants can venture to South Tyrol’s first parametrically designed building to be erected on a mountaintop, designed in part by world-renowned architect, Zaha Hadid.
Klimahouse is a balance of exhibits displaying new products, and educational programs developed with leading partners such as, Tis Innovation Park, EURAC, ANIT, APA and ANAB. The “Klimahouse Trend” award will be presented to the company with the most innovative idea for sustainable building at the exhibition.
With few solutions for sustainable building in 2004, organizers imagined Klimahouse; and in 2005, the first International Klimahouse Exhibition showcased pioneering technologies within the energy conservation and sustainable living sectors. Today, the event continues to be at the forefront of industry trends in Italy and beyond. Architects, builders, designers, and consumers alike turn to Klimahouse for expert industry updates on certified energy efficient and sustainable homes.
South Tyrol bridges the technologies of Northern Europe with Italy, making it an advanced location for sustainable living, and the ideal location for this exhibit. Since 2005, Klimahouse has erupted in popularity. The growing demand for participation in this event has resulted in the addition of three annual Klimahouse conventions throughout Italy. The four annual conventions are: Klimahouse South Tyrol (the original and biggest convention), Klimahouse Rome, Klimahouse Tuscany, and Puglia Klimahouse.
The International Klimahouse Exhibition, organized by the Fiera Bolzano and the CasaClima Agency, invites participants “to construct intelligently.”
The CasaClima Agency, one of the most established and recognized agencies within the energy conservation industry, standardized the minimum requirements for safe energy consumption in buildings. It is also the first organization to grant energy certifications to buildings in Italy that meet the minimum green-living requirements. Over the past 10 years, The International Klimahouse Exhibition has attracted more than 450,000 visitors to Italy, and recorded more than 65,000 participants in their various workshops, tours and seminars. To date, the agency has built and renovated over 6,000 certified sustainable buildings.
