“For companies that manufacture machinery that has potential hazards associated with it, there is a very strong need to create effective product safety labels. This task must be done right.
Milford, PA (PRWEB) January 27, 2015
Clarion Safety Systems, a leading designer and manufacturer of safety signs and safety labels, has produced a video explaining why top-quality design and materials, as well as knowledge of U.S. and international safety standards, are key in creating product safety labels that help to protect people and reduce risk. The piece is part of a series of short, educational videos designed to serve as a resource in promoting a better understanding of current best practices in the design of product safety labels and facility safety sign systems.
In its 2-minute video, “The Power of Effective Warning Labels: The Jarvis Products Corporation Story,” Ken Sachar, engineering manager at Jarvis Products Corporation, a meat processing machinery manufacturer, explains the challenges of product safety labeling for its tools, including warning both domestically and internationally. Adherence to the latest standards and choosing the proper materials are top considerations.
“In order for the tools to work, they have to be dangerous; they’re cutting, they’re chopping and they’re sawing. And when we’re warning, we’re not just warning Americans. We’re warning anybody how to safely operate the tools,” says Sachar, a client of Clarion’s.
He goes on to explain how his company has relied on Clarion’s leadership in visual safety communication and materials expertise to create product warnings that communicate safety and withstand their products’ particularly harsh environment-of-use conditions.
“For companies that manufacture machinery that has potential hazards associated with its transportation, installation, use, maintenance, decommissioning and/or disposal, there is a very strong need to create effective product safety labels. This task must be done right,” says Clarion’s CEO, Geoffrey Peckham, who also chairs the ANSI Z535 Committee for Safety Signs and Colors and the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO Technical Committee 145 – Graphical Symbols. “Simply put, the stakes are too high for this job to be done incorrectly. People’s lives and the financial well-being of their company are on the line.”
As an industry leader in machinery safety labeling, Clarion collaborates with global, regional and local companies to help protect people from injury – and companies from loss. Clarion specializes in working with its clients to develop labels that meet and exceed current standards, address unique material and size requirements and convey needed safety messages.
The video is available through the Clarion website’s video library as well as through the company’s YouTube channel. Additional, up-to-date information covering a wide range of topics related to effective safety signs and labels can be found in Clarion’s online workplace safety sign and product safety label Learning Center.
