Today, Australia's national accommodation ratings organization announces a long-term strategic partnership with ReviewPro to provide the company’s Guest Intelligence solution to accommodation providers across the country.
In the first phase of the two-phase project, Australia’s Star Rated properties will have access to ReviewPro’s online reputation management platform and Global Review Index™ (GRI), the B2B online reputation score used by hotels worldwide as a benchmark for guest satisfaction, based on consumer review data collected from 142 online travel agencies (OTAs) and review sites in more than 45 languages. With these tools, Star Rated properties in Australia will obtain deeper insight into operational and service strengths and weaknesses from online feedback, so they can increase guest satisfaction and drive revenue growth. As Australia is one of the ten largest tourism destinations worldwide, and as the partnership provides ReviewPro’s solution to thousands of Australian properties, this represents a powerful new model for supporting hotel quality and improving guest experience across the country.
In the second phase of the partnership, ReviewPro’s Guest Rating Score™ will be available to consumers alongside the independent Star Ratings, delivering a powerful and reliable information source for travelers wanting to shortlist and book accommodation in Australia.
Today, ratings and reviews play a highly influential role in consumer decision-making. A 2014 study, “Online Guest Reviews and Classification Systems”, created by Chris Anderson of the Cornell Center for Hospitality Research and the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), underscored this, and revealed that 72% of hoteliers believe integration of guest reviews into official star rating systems is either “Extremely Important” or “Very Important.” As such, integrating ReviewPro’s guest feedback data and the Star Ratings is a very important step in improving transparency and providing potential guests with the most accurate information about each Star Rated property in Australia.
“The company’s strong history of partnerships, combined with data flexibility and world-class training and support, were the main reasons we chose to partner with ReviewPro,” said Damien Hanger, General Manager of Star Ratings Australia. “Now, all of our Star Rated properties can benefit from a fully integrated analytical solution that will provide greater support towards our overall goal of boosting the guest experience in accommodation across the country.”
“We are thrilled to begin this new partnership with Star Ratings Australia,” said RJ Friedlander, CEO of ReviewPro. “This comprehensive, multi-level alliance sets a new global standard for improving the quality of guests’ experience across an entire country, benefitting Australia’s hoteliers and visitors alike.”

About Star Ratings Australia
Star Ratings are an internationally recognized symbol for quality accommodation standards. They are used in more than 70 countries worldwide and reflect the cleanliness, quality and condition of guest facilities.
A Star Rating is determined by more than 200 criteria that have been ranked by Australian travelers according to how important they are to them.
A Star Rated property has been independently reviewed to ensure these strict criteria and standards have been met, and is licensed to display or use a Star Rating to promote that property.
Star Ratings are a mark of quality: if a property has a 1 Star Rating, you can be assured that the property has met the standards expected of a quality 1 Star property; if a property has a 5 Star Rating, it has met the standards expected of a quality 5 Star property.
Because the accommodation you expect should be the accommodation you get.
The Star Ratings scheme enjoys a long and distinguished heritage with the Australian Auto Clubs, dating back to the 1950s when the clubs first started assessing accommodation on behalf of their members.
