The Institute of Financial Operations Names Mary Schaeffer Its Education Director

Mary Schaeffer has been named Education Director of The Institute of Financial Operations, the nonprofit membership-based professional association which serves finance professionals in accounts payable, accounts receivable, information management, and data capture.

The education component is critical to any professional association, so I am delighted at the opportunity to expand my work with these professionals who operate the IFO under the direction of Ken Brown and the members who contribute to all its endeavors.

The Institute of Financial Operations (IFO) has named Mary Schaeffer its Education Director. In her new position the nationally recognized accounts payable expert will be responsible for educational initiatives, for the nonprofit membership-based professional association which serves finance professionals in accounts payable, accounts receivable, information management, and data capture. The announcement of Schaeffer's appointment was made by The Institute's CEO Ken Brown.

Additionally, Schaeffer, who also is the IFO’s Editor-in-Chief, serves as Publisher & Editorial Director of Accounts Payable Now & Tomorrow, the leading provider of business intelligence related to the accounts payable function. In that position she is responsible for overseeing the company's monthly newsletter, webinars, seminars, and e-zine focused on the latest trends in accounts payable. An accomplished author, she has written more than 15 business books, with most focused on accounts payable issues. Her extensive experience also includes serving as Executive Editor for IOMA; a Financial Risk Manager for Olympia & York; and as Assistant Treasurer for the Equitable Life Assurance Society. She speaks regularly at industry events, one-day seminars, conferences, and online events. She holds an MBA in Finance from New York University, and a Bachelor of Science in Math from York College.
