NewYork-Presbyterian is one of a select few hospitals in the country to be honored by The American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) for reducing its energy consumption. The hospital received the Energy to Care Award for cutting energy consumption by 10 percent or greater over the course of three years at four of its campuses:

“We are extremely honored to be recognized for our efforts to reduce our environmental footprint,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. “NewYork-Presbyterian is committed to promoting sustainability through energy-efficient practices as it improves the health of our patients, protects our staff, and is the right thing to do for our community and the environment.”

The Energy to Care Award is administered through ASHE’s Energy to Care program, which encourages healthcare providers to significantly reduce their environmental footprint.
