Battle Ready International™ Announces Sponsorship of West Point Pistol and Combat Weapons Teams
Seattle, Washington (PRWEB) January 26, 2015 -- Battle Ready International™, the exclusive tactical products brand of MFSI Government Group (MFSI) announced today its sponsorship of the United States Military Academy’s Army Pistol and Combat Weapons teams. Battle Ready has agreed to donate five M5 Government (9mm) pistols to each team for their use in training and competition.
“We have partnered with Israel’s premiere firearms manufacturer, Bul Transmark, Ltd(BUL), to import the M-5 line of tactical, high capacity 1911 pistols, used extensively by special operations, military/SWAT, law enforcement and competitive shooters around the world,” said George M Tronsrue III, MFSI’s Founder/Owner and President. “Our family has a long history with competitive marksmanship, especially at West Point and we felt this was another great opportunity to add value to these top quality, highly competitive Army programs,” Tronsrue said.
“Battle Ready’s M-5’s are built on a fiber-reinforced polymer/steel frame and come standard with a match-grade heavy ramped bull-barrel, full length guide rod, fiber optic front sight, lowered and flared ejection port, extended ambidextrous thumb safeties, match-grade hammer, high-ride grip safety, and an integral magwell,” said Evan Bailey, MFSI’s VP of Business Development. “We felt West Point Cadets would be proud and eager to have BUL pistols in their competitive arsenal and that it would help them continue to dominate in intercollegiate competition.” Bailey said.
"Shortly after receiving our BUL M-5 Government model 9mm pistols, we participated in a steel challenge pistol match. Without any opportunity to train with the pistols or test them for function and reliability, three of my veteran competitors chose to use the BUL M-5 Government pistols for the competition, just because they felt right. The pistols functioned perfectly, and all three competitors shot personal best times. Our next competition is the collegiate national championship. We will be competing with our BUL M-5 Government model pistols,” said Army Pistol Coach Duston Saunders, a retired Lieutenant Colonel who has led Army to 9 National Championships—5 in the last 6 years. Saunders, an expert marksman himself, was selected as the Pistol Coach for Team USA in the 2011, 2013 and 2015 World University Games as well as the Pistol Coach for the Warrior Trials for the 2014 Wounded Warrior Games.
Both Tronsrue and Bailey are former Army officers and graduates of the US Military Academy at West Point, NY, in 1978 and 2004, respectively. Bailey served two combat tours—Iraq (2006-2007) and Afghanistan (2009-2010)—earning 2 Bronze Stars for his combat service and is co-founder of the Red Badge Project, a wounded warrior program based in Seattle, WA. Tronsrue was an airborne ranger infantry officer for 5 years before being injured in a line of duty accident in 1983 and subsequently medically retired as a Captain. As a youth, Tronsrue was a Junior NRA shooter, becoming a Distinguished Expert by the 7th grade. His father, (COL, Ret) George M Tronsrue, Jr. (West Point Class of 1952), was his shooting coach, a highly decorated combat veteran (two tours in Vietnam) and a 4-year shooter/letterman on Army’s Rifle Team while a cadet. The world class Tronsrue Marksmanship Center at West Point is named in honor of the American Infantryman and Tronsrue’s father, who passed away in December 2013 at age 83.
