Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 02, 2015
With the goal of building a community for social impact entrepreneurs, Coalition Impact is launching a mission-driven coworking space in Chicago’s River North district. The space, focused on providing open and private office space to the impact community, will also host regular networking and educational events. It will be Coalition’s second in Chicago, building on the success of its energy-focused space overlooking Millennium Park. This impact community will occupy the fifth floor in Coalition’s River North building at 405 West Superior Street, and will be a home for companies facilitating change in social innovation, clean tech, educational tech, and more.
“There’s no shortage of coworking space in Chicagoland,” says co-founder David Rotbard, “but our goal is to create a space for companies built around tech and social innovation. Bringing them together will create an impact powerhouse right here in Chicago.”
To build a diverse business community, Coalition has reserved an additional floor in its building with coworking desks and private offices for small businesses in a variety of industries.
The response from the community has been strong, notably including support from Impact Engine, the city’s first accelerator for impact startups. “We are excited to see the impact entrepreneurship community continue to expand in Chicago," said Jessica Droste Yagan, CEO.
To build the community, Coalition is offering a full month free to impact companies in an of its Chicago communities. Interested companies may apply on the Coalition website. Founding members have already begun moving into the space, beginning the first stages of an active network of innovators whose missions encompass the environment, people, communities, and more.
