Grant Award will bring “The Parable Project” to the Diocese of Gaylord

“The children really get the lessons of goodness from Scripture by participating in The Parable Project. It stays with their hearts.”

Magic Carpet Theatre’s Drama Ministry is pleased to announce that they are the recipient of a second Charles M. Bauervic Foundation Grant for their 2014-2015 theatrical season. The purpose of this second grant is to fund theatrical performances of The Parable Project to elementary school children in Catholic Schools in Traverse City, located in the Diocese of Gaylord. The first grant award provided theatrical performances to Catholic Schools in Tawas City, also in the Diocese of Gaylord.

The Parable Project brings nine parables to life using drama, humor and student role playing to bring their imaginations and hearts to life. Children watch, participate and experience these stories in a creative and memorable way. By participating in live theatre with the Living Word, students encounter Christ through Scripture in a personal way. Catherine Zardus, Founder and Artistic Director of the Magic Carpet Theatre’s Drama Ministry, is appreciative of the Bauervic grant that will inspire children through their drama ministry. “The children really get the lessons of goodness from Scripture by participating in The Parable Project. It stays with their hearts.” Inspired by a call to bring Scripture to life through the theatrical arts, Zardus considers it is a mission of joy to perform. “It is a privilege to serve others in the way that their founder, Mr. Charles M. Bauveric, may have wanted…educating children with Godly principals through theatrical storytelling. We are very appreciative of this generous funding that will allow us to continue to perform the stories and words of Jesus. We are also delighted to be returning to the Diocese of Gaylord.”
