University of Delaware Selects rSmart OneCampus to Improve Access to Campus Services from Any Device
Scottsdale, Arizona (PRWEB) January 29, 2015 -- rSmart announced today the University of Delaware (UD) has selected OneCampus, the modern post-portal solution that provides access to all campus services in one location, from any device. OneCampus will help UD students, faculty, staff, and parents/guardians quickly locate University services and applications with built-in tagging, advanced SEO search functionality, and the ability to browse by category in an online store format. The offering is available to UD and to all higher education and non-profit institutions as part of the Internet2 NET+ initiative.
For several years, the UD community has used multiple tools to search University web pages or the student information system for business forms or applications. The rSmart OneCampus offering from Internet2 NET+ will bridge the gap between roles (student, staff, and faculty) and departments, and will help staff to provide better answers and enhanced support to the UD community.
“Because of the increased use of smartphones and tablets by our students, faculty, and employees, UD was in search of an affordable way to aggregate applications so they could be found anytime, anywhere, from any device,” said Carl Jacobson, Vice President of IT and Chief Information Officer at UD. “OneCampus is the right fit for UD because its ‘Search. Click. Done.’ design matches how people locate information today. We anticipate OneCampus will be quickly adopted based on its ease of use and intuitive design.”
OneCampus is a cloud-based solution that helps users discover services relevant to them and provides administrators valuable user feedback to facilitate further service discovery without a large financial or IT manpower investment. Because the software has pre-configured settings designed specifically for higher education, administrator training, and user guides, many schools can be ready to deploy OneCampus in just a few weeks.
rSmart CEO Tony Potts added, “The University of Delaware has immediately embraced this new technology and is demonstrating just how easy OneCampus is to deploy and maintain. We look forward to working closely with the UD team to identify enhancements and share best practices with future Internet2 NET+ adopters.”
The OneCampus Internet2 NET+ service is the result of the collaboration between seven universities, Internet2, and rSmart to provide a unique offering to the higher education community. Technology leaders from Indiana University, University of Utah, University of Maryland, University of Pittsburgh, Clemson University, University of Nebraska-Omaha, and BYU-Idaho helped guide and shape the validated solution.
