In Minneapolis, Minnesota, Officer Elvis Acquino showed integrity in a situation that would have been a temptation for many. During his night patrol of a local technology business, Officer Acquino discovered cash left on company property. He could have pocketed the money with no one the wiser, but Officer Acquino did the right thing, ensuring that the money was safely delivered to the office manager the next morning. In a letter to USA, the office manager writes, “I greatly appreciate that. It’s nice to know we have such an honest and trustworthy guard here.” Officer Acquino receives a Certificate of Recognition and a small reward.
In Detroit, Michigan, Officer Gary Rucker put his security officer training into practice to save a life during a medical crisis. While Officer Rucker was on post at a local bank branch, he witnessed a customer experiencing a medical emergency. After the on-site EMS technician failed to get the victim to respond, Officer Rucker intervened with medical care that may have saved the victim’s life. After recovering, the customer returned to the bank to thank Officer Rucker personally. USA acknowledges Officer Rucker for his swift and capable response with a Meritorious Service Certificate.
