Career Directors International Hosts Annual TORI Competition for Resume Writers
Melbourne, Florida (PRWEB) February 03, 2015 -- For the past thirteen years Career Directors International (CDI), a global membership-based organization for resume writers and career coaches, has been driving excellence in resume writing. Beyond certifications and timely industry survey reports, they have done this by hosting the Toast of the Resume Industry (TORI) resume writing competition.
CDI has just announced that their 2015 TORI competition is now open to members until June 15, 2015. The categories open this year for submission include: information technology, hospitality (travel/tourism), accounting/finance, sales, healthcare/medical, international, new graduate, executive, and cover letter.
A panel of judges who are made up of certified leaders and former award-winners, will perform a blind review of the resumes to identify the top five nominees in each category. A second panel of equally qualified judges will select the first, second, and third place winners in each category. Thus, there are 45 chances for nominations and 27 chances to win.
Both winning and nomination have been known to change the course of a resume writer’s success. In fact, CDI has been told that the TORIs are the #1 way for a resume writer to build their business.
But, there is more than just business-building to the TORIs. CDI President, Laura DeCarlo, says, “The TORIs are the best thing that has ever happened to resume writing. They challenge professionals to keep their skills fresh and up-to-date. They provide a benchmark for the industry. They help job seekers to understand the elements of a top marketing resume as well as to provide guidance in selecting a service provider to assist them with theirs. CDI is proud to continue the competition in its 14th year.”
Prior winning resumes can be viewed on CDI’s resume awards page.
