AppRev announced today that Seth Avery, company President and CEO, will be a speaker at the HFMA Region 5 annual Dixie Institute to be held in Charleston, South Carolina, February 17-20, 2015.

HFMA Region 5’s Dixie Institute is designed to support HFMA’s commitment to providing programs that enhance the growth and development of its members. This annual conference brings together HFMA Members from 5 different states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Seth Avery, along with co-presenter Diane Story, will present “Denials in the World of ICD-10,” an informative lecture about the impact of the ICD-10 transition on the types and volumes of payer denials. Ms. Story will share her denials transition experience from her position at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. Together they will discuss practical steps to take today to prepare for this impending change.

"The session will be interactive. We plan to share with the audience the experiences we've gained through working with providers across the country, while also learning from conference attendees at the same time," said Mr. Avery.

Diane Story is the Director of Revenue Cycle Improvement for Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, SC. In this role, she is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing projects that directly impact cash collections, process improvement, cost reduction and/or revenue generation. Her primary responsibilities currently include Project Manager for the ICD-10 Transition and implementation of a Business Process Management (BPM) tool to streamline processes and increase efficiency.

Mr. Avery, President and CEO of AppRev, has 25 years of experience as a healthcare executive, serving as auditor, consultant, Administrator and Chief Financial Officer, and speaks frequently on the subject of revenue cycle management and improvement.
