Personal Injury Attorneys, Henness and Haight, welcome Oscar Peralta as the newest member of their firm. Henness and Haight is known to be extremely selective when bringing in new attorneys. Oscar spoke of how excited he is to join one of the top Personal Injury firms in Las Vegas, “I am very pleased to join Henness & Haight, a firm with an established reputation of providing the highest level of service to injured victims. My mission as an attorney is to work tirelessly to vindicate the rights of my clients, to always keep my clients’ best interests in mind, and to obtain the best possible outcome for each of them. I know of no better way to pursue this mission than as part of the outstanding team of attorneys and legal professionals at Henness & Haight.”
Although Oscar was born in Costa Rica, he has called Nevada his home for many years. After graduating from high school in Carson City, Oscar earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. He then went to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and earned his Juris Doctor degree from the UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law, where he served as a member of Boyd’s law review, the Nevada Law Journal; and the Society of Advocates Negotiation Team. While at Boyd, Oscar was awarded the Nevada Justice Association Scholarship, as well as the Nevada State Bar Diversity Scholarship.
Oscar was also awarded the UNR College of Liberal Arts J.D. Robb Scholarship for legal studies, and the UNR Latino Research Center’s Promesa Award, for academic excellence and community service. Before starting law school, Oscar was selected for a nationally-recognized public policy fellowship in Washington D.C., through which he spent a year working in the office of U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Outside of work, Oscar enjoys spending time with family, music, literature, and civic engagement.
Henness and Haight have garnished a reputation for giving back to the community outside of their personal injury work. Each year they hold events such as their annual Toys for Tots charity drive. Although Oscar has had great success in academics, his contribution to the community was a significant factor in asking him to join into the firm. Oscar participated in a human rights practicum in New Delhi, India; contributed articles to Nevada Lawyer Magazine and the NJA publication, the Advocate; and volunteered his time to numerous civic activities. His commitment to helping others made him truly the stand out amongst the other candidates.
