MySwing Professional Premieres Wireless Motion Capture Technology During the 2015 PGA Merchandise Show
Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) January 28, 2015 -- MySwing® Professional, the only wireless, full-body, motion capture driven tool for golf professionals that can be used both indoors and out made its official premiere at this year’s PGA Merchandise Show that took place January 21-23 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
From day one of the show, golfer’s hailing from the U.S., Canada, Europe, Korea and throughout the world embarked on the world-renowned show and to the MySwing booth which was offering live demonstrations of its revolutionary golf teaching tool.
The week began on January 20th at Demo Day where exhibitors first had the opportunity to show off their golf gear at the Orange County National Golf Center. MySwing featured two professional golfers using the full-body and club inertial sensors and demonstrating how it can capture exact data even while being used outdoors. Visitors to the tent had the chance to get their first glance of what the MySwing analytical data gives professionals which is not only a 360° view digital avatar of the player, but a kinematic sequence chart and a host of other swing and body data.
As the official show began the next day and continued on the remainder of the week, the MySwing booth included seating and a small stage where a golfer was set up between two large monitors displaying his swing data. The screens made it possible for the audience to get a clear view of the biomechanic information coaches and instructors will receive to share with students and help them improve their swing. Attendees from throughout the convention area and from around the world gathered at MySwing to get a complete explanation of the platform from MySwing President, Peter Gauthier and special guest speaker, Dr. Phil Cheetham, Senior Sport Technologist for the U.S. Olympic Committee.
“The best thing about this event was that it really made it possible for us to connect one-on-one with golf coaches and instructors from around the world and give them a live view of how MySwing works as well as allowing them the opportunity to ask questions,” said Gauthier. “Until now, I don’t think people realized this kind of technology was even attainable. The first thing instructors will notice is the smiles they get when their students see themselves in a 3D avatar and realize that Hollywood motion capture technology has made it into the golf sphere. Aside from being a constructive teaching tool it is actually pretty cool.”
Though there are other golf teaching tools and systems on the market, MySwing Professional is the only one that is completely wireless, portable and lightweight so it does not interfere with the natural movement of the body.
The MySwing Professional package comes with 18 sensors including one for the club, a set of straps, a tablet PC with pre-installed software, and a carrying case that also works as a charger for the sensors. The sensors attach to various points on the user’s body and instantly capture the motion data which is transmitted wirelessly to a tablet where it is stored to be later analyzed and compared. Golf instructors and students can review the captured data, which is displayed in a 3D format. The sensors can work continuously for up to four hours between charges.
MySwing is being planned for release this spring in the North American market, with an international roll-out later in the year. For the North American market, the package will be offered to instructors and coaching facilities on a rental plan of $199 per month for 24-month rental periods. The rental contract includes maintenance, customer support and automatic updates. MySwing will also offer training seminars throughout the country that will teach users about biomechanics as well as how to use the product. Webinars will also be regularly available and supplemented with online courses.
