Leading Event Website and Mobile App Announces New, Industry-Changing Transaction Fee Model

Since our founding, we have been focused on fundamentally changing the business paradigm in the event technology industry, including the outdated licensing, transactional and project pricing models offered by traditional players.

SmartCrowdz announced today that it is waiving event transaction processing fees on all event ticket sales, registrations and donations. Only the actual credit card processing fee (less than 3 percent) on event-related transactions will be applied, making SmartCrowdz the most affordable option in the event industry. This new offer is in line with the Company’s pledge to disrupt and change the outdated business model offered by current event technology vendors, where event websites and mobile apps are expensive to build and manage, and are complicated to use.

“Since our founding, we have been focused on fundamentally changing the business paradigm in the event technology industry, including the outdated licensing, transactional and project pricing models offered by traditional players,” said Randy Smith, cofounder and managing partner of SmartCrowdz. “We have flipped the model from monetizing the event technology and transactions to monetizing event traffic through advertising, sponsorships and other means."

The announcement that SmartCrowdz is waiving its event transaction fees compliments its base pricing approach of not charging for the licensing, development and management of event websites and mobile apps. While offering an option to event managers to turnoff ads and sponsorships off for a fee, SmartCrowdz principal revenue sources are event advertising and sponsorship. The Company intends to continue to explore new ways to bring more value to event planners and managers.

“We founded SmartCrowdz to make it easy for event managers to create, market, manage and monetize events,” said Mike Lanese, cofounder and managing partner of SmartCrowdz. “We understand how planners need to keep more of what they’re bringing in financially, so we decided to make our transactions processing fees the lowest in the industry, in order to help them do so.”
