Southeast Discovery Notes Developer Joe Ayres’ Commitment to Making New Community WindRiver the Leading Luxury Waterfront and Golf Community in East Tennessee
Libertyville, IL (PRWEB) January 30, 2015 -- After acquiring the Lenoir City, Tennessee golf community in June 2012, developer and East Tennessee native Joe Ayres set about creating a legacy project now known as WindRiver: A Lakefront and Golf Community. While the community had a great deal of infrastructure already in place, Ayres and his team at WindRiver Investments, LLC provided the financial stability, focus, energy and cohesive land plan the community lacked. Planned amenities include the six-acre Brightwater Park, which will feature walking trails, pavilion, fire pit, water access & swim area, piers and more, with construction scheduled to begin in 2015.
“The Ayres family are longtime Knoxvillians, so their acquisition of this community on Tellico Lake goes beyond developing property. They want to create a quality residential lake and golf community in the Knoxville area that will attract folks from all over the country who want to be in East Tennessee and enjoy the attributes of this region the Ayres family has called ‘home’ for generations,” said Marian Schaffer, Principal and Founder of Southeast Discovery, a company that helps buyers actively looking for a retirement or second home in the Southeast find the right area and community to call home.
According to Ayres, “We saw an opportunity to improve on a great concept and make it truly special. By acquiring this land at a savings we are able to invest significantly into providing world-class amenities and a great club experience for our property owners and guests.”
KemperSports was tapped to manage the 18-hole Bob Cupp-designed championship course, chosen because of its culture of professionalism and expertise in the golf industry. Capital improvements currently underway on the course include bunker renovation and design, improved fairway drainage, and additional tee boxes. Future plans include an expansive clubhouse with a full-service restaurant, bar, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and professionally staffed pro shop.
Also currently under construction is the state-of-the-art WindRiver Sports & Wellness Club, and Cosmos Bar & Grill, a unique floating restaurant with roof top bar that sits adjacent to the completed full-service marina. The marina offers in-water slips ranging from 30 to 90 feet, electricity and sewage, plus an advanced docking system.
Other planned amenities include the six-acre Brightwater Park, which will feature walking trails, pavilion, fire pit, water access & swim area, piers and more, with construction scheduled to begin in 2015.
A new addition to the community’s present Lakeside Inn is Citico’s Restaurant & Club which opened in July with reservation-only dining Thursday through Sunday upstairs, coupled with a downstairs pub and lounge featuring craft beers and wines from the area.
A new home neighborhood called The Highlands is scheduled to be released in early 2015. This area features a collection of single-family residences offering maintenance-free and single-level living in an English Country architectural style. The neighborhood will be located next to the community’s Sports & Wellness Club.
The WindRiver community encompasses 687 acres and five miles of shoreline along Tellico Lake, a lake nationally recognized as one of the top inland boating destinations in the United States. There are likely to be between 700 and 800 home sites, 200 of which sit lakefront. Home sites range from half an acre to more than 2 acres and are offered at $130,000 - $500,000. Homes are offered from $450,000 to over $2,900,000.
“We believe WindRiver is on its way to becoming one of the very finest residential master-planned communities on the eastern half of Tennessee. This community is situated on beautiful Lake Tellico, the amenities already built and new ones being added are both usable and impressive, the homes being built are of exceptional quality, and the location of WindRiver is very appealing. And for being a lake community, WindRiver offers its residents exceptional convenience to shopping, dining, medical and other daily conveniences,” said Schaffer.
