Nancy Cranford Joins Turknett Leadership Group as Vice President
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) January 30, 2015 -- Nancy Cranford, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, has joined Turknett Leadership Group (TLG) as Vice President. Turknett Leadership Group is a premiere leadership development firm in Atlanta with over 25 years of experience in executive coaching, leadership team development, culture assessment and change, succession planning, and more. Nancy joins Turknett Leadership Group after more than 30 years of experience in the corporate arena, working for companies such as The Home Depot, Toys R Us, and Macy’s. She enjoyed a successful career in both Human Resources and Operations roles developing the business partners she supported in stores, supply chain, and corporate office environments.
At The Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer, Nancy served as Manager, Advice and Counsel. In that role, she provided guidance and counseling to field teams throughout the United States on a wide range of Employee Relations topics such as performance management, compensation, EEOC investigations, policy interpretation, employment law, sexual harassment and discrimination investigations, management practices, and conflict resolution. She promoted positive employee relations to enhance overall performance through strong partnerships with store teams, HR, Legal, and Loss Prevention. While at The Home Depot corporate office, Nancy received numerous awards for outstanding customer service, as well as the HR Business Partner Award for Entrepreneurial Spirit, after initiating and facilitating an on-going corporate “Lunch ‘n Learn” series that provided development and certification credits for Human Resources Managers.
While at Toys R Us, Nancy had multi-unit responsibility as the Regional Human Resources Manager for the Southeast. She held a generalist role with a focus on training and development, succession planning, talent management, employee relations, compensation, and management recruitment. Prior to joining the Human Resources Regional team, Nancy served as the Regional Loss Prevention Manager with responsibilities for training, shortage investigations, formulation and monitoring of policies and procedures, and loss analysis for the distribution center and stores within the southeast region.
Nancy’s career began at Macy’s in the Loss Prevention department where she quickly progressed to Senior Loss Prevention Manager directing all aspects of Loss Prevention and investigations for the flagship Atlanta location. It was at Macy’s that Nancy also gained valuable experience as a Senior Executive in supply chain, in both union and non-union facilities.
Nancy earned a B.S. degree in Criminology from Florida State University. She also holds the Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification, as well as the Society for Human Resources Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification.
Nancy is member of the Society for Human Resources National Organization (SHRM), and is an active volunteer with SHRM-Atlanta. She has served in roles such as GEM Chair, on the Lead Team for the SHRM National Conference in Atlanta, as Project Coordinator for the HR Helping HR Conference, and earned the President’s Volunteer Award. Nancy has a passion for assisting our Nation’s Veterans and has served on the SHRM Military Committee to assist our returning veterans, as a veteran mentor with American Corporate Partners, as a member of THD’s Military Appreciation Group, and as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She has also served on the Atlanta “Pay it Forward” committee and was an active volunteer in THD’s Women’s Link Resource Group.
