Cirrato Technologies Releases New Version of Cirrato One
Stockholm, Sweden (PRWEB) February 01, 2015 -- Cirrato Technologies announces the availability of the new version of Cirrato One. The solution, best known for its single server printing capability, comes with extensive set of enhancements, including:
• Enhanced Port Monitor - communication between printer and printer driver is available in most – if not all - current BiDi-capable print drivers. The printer driver “communicates” with the printer, identifying printer preferences and capabilities. Turning on bidirectional communication in Cirrato allows for automatic configuration of the printers which puts an end to the manual configuration of print queues. This greatly reduces administration time while also ensuring all printer functionality is available to end users.
• Administrators can choose to keep configurations for existing print queues when updating or changing drivers. Additionally, driver updates work in the background and printing remains available, further supporting the Cirrato promise that printing always works.
• Increased security – Cirrato One now allows blocking groups of clients from viewing and installing print queues all at once. It offers restricted access to print queues in that specific region. Another security enhancement is the Short ID used to authenticate at the printer. These are now automatically generated from the self-service portal. It is possible for the administrator to blacklist easy-to-guess Short ID’s such as 1234 or 0000.
“With this new release, we like to demonstrate that the Cirrato solution changes with the market, keeping it up to speed with the continuously changing environments of our customers.” says Gorm Halberg-Lange, CEO and Founder of Cirrato Technologies. “Most of the enhancements in the latest release were originally requested by our customers. We are a technology driven company and are always looking to set a new standard in printing. Multifunction printers have acquired a lot more functionality during the years, such as extensive finishing options. Print drivers have become much smarter. This release supports these changes. It allows for communication between the printer and the printer driver but still offers control over printing.”
Rob Pike, Product Director, comments: “Our next release will focus mainly on end user convenience. Cirrato One will then launch a feature called Navigator. People can select printers from a map that can drill down to the actual office floor and install them with a single click. We will also launch Mobile Release which allows people to release print jobs from their mobile devices. Cirrato One is all about user convenience and reducing the need for helpdesk interaction when it comes to printing.”
The release is available now for download. The upgrade is free of charge for Cirrato customers. Customers wanting to upgrade can contact their supplier or email the Cirrato Support Team (support(at)cirrato(dot)com).
