TVision co-hosts Microsoft Recruitment Round Table
(PRWEB UK) 31 January 2015 -- The Microsoft Technology for Recruiters Round Table event held in London last Tuesday was a huge success. Recruiters travelled from all over the country to attend the event which focused on showcasing Microsoft solutions for present and Future Workforce.
Presenting the event were Microsoft partners TVision Technology, Gold partners for ERP with their Agency Time pay/bill and finance solution, and Crimson, Gold Partners for Dynamics CRM with their Mercury xRM product for CRM and front office. TVision and Crimson work together providing a complete back and front office solution for clients.
Kicking off the discussions, Phil Newman, Microsoft Dynamics NAV channel manager gave an overview of Microsoft’s current offerings, and looked at where its $9 billion investment in research and development is delivering advantage today and gearing up for the future.
One of the key themes of the day was ‘the Microsoft factor’ what is unique about the software and services provided. Both partners touched on this, Nicki Stewart, TVision Technology stated, “A number of companies can claim a solution with functional fit for recruiters, that’s not a USP. The Microsoft factor gives us that global reach and enterprise level investment in R&D that no other recruitment software provider can boast.” Nicki continued, “By tapping into the Microsoft Partner channel, we have access to local knowledge of, e.g. payroll or tax laws, wherever in the world your company is operating.”
Presenting the Mercury xRM solution, Crimson’s Chris Kendrick asked for recruiters’ pain points with current software. The responses varied, but one of the main issues to come out was technology not keeping in line with the business. Systems which had been implemented some years previously, usually before a period of growth, now cannot handle the requirements of the business, with recruiters plugging the gap with manual workarounds and, most commonly, excel spreadsheets.
Another issue that came up was staff adoption of technology. One attendee likened recruiters to water running downhill: always looking for the quickest path. It therefore became apparent that a requirement for a lot of recruiters is investing in software their staff will actually use. This brought the discussion back to the Microsoft Factor; intuitive, familiar interfaces which encourage user adoption.
Whilst promoting the virtues of an end to end Microsoft solution, both Chris and Nicki were keen to point out that it is not an ‘all or nothing’ option. Both Agency Time and Mercury xRM will easily integrate with existing systems if these have been recently replaced and are currently handling requirements.
“We planned the event following feedback from the industry of its frustrations with usable technology,” Nicki commented. “Microsoft was quick to agree to sponsor, showcasing solutions that are first and foremost focused on fabulous user experience.”
Phil Newman agreed, “This type of event is a good opportunity for Microsoft to get feedback from companies about the challenges and frustrations they face. It’s also great to see the positive reaction to the Microsoft offerings.”
The Recruitment industry is renowned for facing the challenge of a graduate workforce with high demands of technology and an extremely competitive market place with ever more demanding clients. The technology round table event successfully explored ways that these demands need not be daunting.
