Emulate Tour de France Riders by Cycling Geneva to Nice with SportActive
Londonderry, Northern Ireland (PRWEB UK) 1 February 2015 -- SportActive is a leading provider of cycling holidays in Spain and France. Recently, they added Cycle Geneva to Nice holiday to their list of French cycling holidays, allowing riders to cycle the same roads which form part of the Paris - Nice race and the Tour de France.
SportActive's Geneva to Nice cycling holiday will see riders cycling eleven Alpine mountains in seven days to reach Geneva. The longest route is Nevache to Barelonnette on day five, where cyclists travel 120 Km. Gradients can reach 9.4% in the mountains, and height gains experienced can exceed 1500m. Due to the challenging course, SportActive offers professional cycling coaching before, during, and after rides and a support car.
Commenting on the holiday, general manager of SportActive, Flora Mittermair, said:
"This is for cyclists that want to challenge themselves, and take their cycling to the next level. We have deliberately chosen a route which allows riders to experience the big races of Paris-Nice and Tour de France, and as such, we give the same support as professional riders receive during those races.
"It is our aim and wish that all our riders complete the course under their own steam. Martin (head coach) is very good at helping people get more out of their cycling and coaching them to greater achievements."
The Geneva to Nice holiday or "Route des Grandes Alpes" operates between the 13th - 20th June. SportActive takes care of all accommodation bookings and airport transfers including the rider's bike. They also take care of luggage transfer between hotels and provide secure overnight bike storage, as well as food during the rides. For an additional fee, SportActive can arrange flights.
