Tri Star Cabinets Featuring High-Tech Cabinet Option in New Display
NEW LENOX, IL (PRWEB) February 01, 2015 -- Tri Star Cabinets is installing a new display in its showroom today to educate consumers about their five-piece medium density fiberboard options.
“This is a material that the company has been offering for more than a year now, but people aren’t very knowledgeable about it,” explained Tri Star Cabinets President Joseph Wilda Jr. “They often think it is particle board, but actually it is a much better material.”
MDF is an engineered wood product. To make it, wood fibers are pressed into a panel at high temperatures; that can lead consumers to confuse it with plain plywood or particle board. In reality, however, it is denser than both plywood and particle board, and is more regular than hewn wood because it does not contain knots or rings.
“As people come in and see this display, they’ll have a better knowledge of how it works and how it looks, compared to a wood cabinet. They will be able to see that this material is cleaner-looking,” Wilda said.
Because MDF is uniform and far less likely to crack than other options -- even in a humid kitchen -- it’s an ideal material for cabinets that are going to be painted.
The cabinets in the showroom are painted in white and various shades of gray. “Gray and white are more modern looking and are very trendy right now, so we want to show customers that this material will make these colors look great in any kitchen,” said Wilda. That doesn’t mean customers are limited to these hues, however. Tri Star Cabinets can match any color swatch brought in by a buyer. Customers also have the option of purchasing the panels unfinished.
Additionally, the display will showcase special features such as several types of plate racks, pull-out shelves, glass shelves and window-front panels.
Wilda shared that he thinks the customer response will be positive once people see that the MDF cabinets fit in with other high-end kitchen finishes. “This modern-looking material with trending colors goes well with granite and quartz counter tops, which are a bit more money, but it’s worth the price,” he added.
Tri Star Cabinets' showroom of custom wood cabinets is located at 1000 S. Cedar Rd. in New Lenox.
