FEI to Present at the Ninth Annual Airline Symposium
Milwaukee, Wisconsin (PRWEB) February 02, 2015 -- FEI Behavioral Health, a social enterprise with a 35-year history and leader in workforce resilience from crisis management to EAP, will be presenting a session at the upcoming ninth annual Airline Symposium in McLean, Va., running Feb. 3-5, 2015.
FEI’s Senior Director of Crisis Management Services, Dr. Vivian Marinelli, will share expertise as part of an informative workshop panel, “Your Family Assistance Plan…Foreign and Domestic,” on Thurs., Feb. 5, at 9:30 a.m. EST. The panel presentation will cover a variety of discussion areas including how airlines can develop a family assistance plan, the role of the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), how to provide information to families, and structuring table top drills and emergency exercises. In addition, the panel will discuss how to deal with anger and grief of victims’ families, the Foreign Family Assistance Act, and selecting and training airline personnel.
Marinelli has provided support to individuals and families impacted by mass casualty disasters including aviation accidents, terrorist attacks and natural disasters since 1999. She works directly with the customers’ emergency response teams to review existing emergency response and family assistance plans. She assists in developing and revising these plans to ensure operational feasibility and provides ongoing consultation and training on emergency planning and family assistance issues.
Marinelli extensive airline disaster experience includes providing support to the families and customers connected with Egypt Air 990, the hijacked passengers of Saudi Arabian Flight 115, AirTransat Flight 236’s emergency landing, the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, bombings in Islamabad and Jakarta, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Colgan Flight 3407, Haiti Earthquake and UPS Flight 6 crash in Dubai among others. She brings over fifteen years of work in direct clinical services specializing in trauma and grief counseling to her work. She holds a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Psychologist in Wisconsin.
