San Francisco, California (PRWEB) February 02, 2015
The 12th Annual San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival is proud to announce its 2015 Award Winners - filmmakers whose films inspire audiences with the striking images and delicate vulnerability of the world’s oceans. The SFIOFF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire people to appreciate and care for the ocean by revealing its wonders through independent films. The eight award winners represent five countries and include independent filmmaker Peter Cambor, star of NCIS LA.
“Our award winners embody the spirit of the festival with moving and educational films that capture the diverse beauty of the world’s oceans and marine life. These films’ stunning visuals and expert testimony highlight the ways in which we can work together to conserve and preserve these precious resources,” says SFIOFF Director Ana Blanco.
The festival will be held in the newly renovated Cowell Theater at the Fort Mason Center from February 27 – March 2nd. You can find the full schedule and purchase tickets at http://www.oceanfilmfest.org. Adult tickets are $15, and we provide discounted student tickets at $10. Seniors and children under 12 can attend for $8.
You may also purchase a $100 Film Pass for access to all films. Full Festival Passes are also available that include entrance to all films as well as the Opening Night Gala on February 26th.

ABOUT THE SAN FRANCISCO INERNATIONAL OCEAN FILM FESTIVAL
The SFIOFF began its legacy at the historic Dolphin Club, adjacent to the SF Maritime Museum across from Aquatic Park in San Francisco. Screening its first film festival at Cowell Theater more than twelve years ago, the festival continues to be the ocean destination event of the year. Widely regarded as the most prestigious film festival in the country dedicated solely to film topics focused on the ocean, the SFIOFF has featured key industry experts such as Jean Michel Cousteau, oceanographers Dr. Don Walsh and many other notable marine scientists.
