The annual Prayer Breakfast began in the 1940s when five businessmen started meeting at a Divisadero Street restaurant for prayer and fellowship. Today, the event draws Christians of all backgrounds from the Fresno and Clovis communities and has spanned the terms of thirteen Fresno mayors. Originally named, The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, the event has grown to include Clovis mayors and keynote speakers from all walks of life, such as pastors, public servants, judges, sports figures, community activists and community leaders.
