CEO Rick Lindquist Says Employer-Sponsored Health Insurance Is a Thing of the Past
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) January 31, 2015 -- Zane Benefits CEO and co-author of “The End of Employer-Provided Health Insurance: Why It’s Good for You,Your Family, and Your Company” Rick Lindquist, predicts employer-provided health insurance will erode over the next decade.
“100 million Americans will move from employer-provided health insurance to individually-purchased health insurance over the next 10 years,” says Lindquist. “Few businesses can sustain the financial hit of group health insurance rate increases year after year. As a result, employers will switch to simply giving employees money to buy their own individual health plans.”
Since 2000, the percentage of Americans covered by employer-provided health insurance has steadily declined. Lindquist calls this, “the death spiral of group health insurance” and predicts that over the next few years we will start to see a large transition away from employer-provided health insurance.
