By design, the attributes of our technology lend themselves well for industrial and enterprise applications, and several Fortune 500 companies have already adopted it.
Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) February 02, 2015
Guard RFID Solutions Inc. announced today that Bernie Maroney has joined the company in the capacity of Director of Business Development for New Markets. Bernie’s primary responsibility is to manage and grow GuardRFID’s business in the non-healthcare sector where adoption of the company’s products in markets such as Industrial, Large Enterprise, and Oil & Gas has been accelerating significantly during the past months.
Bernie’s diverse experience spans entrepreneurship as well as academia. He founded and led Magnolia Composites, a firm in early-stage digital-imaging markets, between 1992 and 2001 in New Orleans. He later utilized his technological background as a Senior Analyst at TELUS for three years. Bernie has twice worked in academia, first as a Professor at the University of Regina from 2002 through 2005, and since 2010 as a Visiting Professor at Simon Fraser University teaching undergraduate and MBA students, prior to joining GuardRFID. Bernie’s academic credentials are as diverse as his experience, having achieved PhD (ABD), MBA, alongside undergraduate degrees in engineering and architecture, while being awarded the 2007 Convocation Medal as the top student in his MBA (Mgt of Technology) program at SFU with a near perfect grade-point average of 4.256. He is currently a Board Member of Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival, chairs the Excellence in Teaching committee at SFU, and is a former President and Board Member for the SFU Alumni Association. He spends much of his free time underwater, as a certified Rescue Diver, traveling the world finding great places to scuba.
“I am excited to have Bernie on board, given his diverse experience and business acumen,” said Zahir Abji, President and CEO of GuardRFID, “GuardRFID’s solutions have primarily been utilized in the healthcare industry, where the total number of implementations is approaching two hundred. By design, the attributes of our technology lend themselves well for industrial and enterprise applications, and several Fortune 500 companies have already adopted it. There has been immense interest in our technology from many other such organizations globally, and Bernie’s addition as part of our team will help us capitalize on this enormous interest.”
“I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge to develop new markets for GuardRFID’s products and services,” says Bernie Maroney. “I find it rewarding to join a dedicated team implementing new technologies for new applications, in an entrepreneurial firm where the culture is to succeed and we realize the fruits of our efforts. The sky is the limit here.”
