Encouraging the children’s work in autonomous technologies and applications supports ENSCO’s interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education for children.

For the second year, ENSCO is supporting Infamous Robotics LLC through its children’s 2015 Robotics Inventors Club. The elementary age members of this new club are building an autonomous robot called A.N.A. (Autonomous Nurse Assistant) to assist nurses with patients who have Ebola.

ANA is designed to intelligently navigate hospitals, and to bring food and other necessary items to patients with high-risk infectious diseases, keeping nurses safe from potential exposure. The idea, concept and design originated with the members of the Robotics Inventors Club. They are currently constructing the prototype to solve a real world problem they felt needed to be addressed.

ENSCO, an R&D science and technology company, headquartered in Falls Church, Va., actively pursues autonomous technologies. ENSCO participated in DARPA’s autonomous vehicle challenges in 2005 and 2007, and deploys autonomous rail technologies on rail cars around the world. Encouraging the children’s work in autonomous technologies and applications supports ENSCO’s interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education for children.

The 2015 Robotics Inventors Club is composed of graduates of the Robotics Expansion™ summer camp programs held by Infamous Robotics LLC. The summer programs teach children about STEM fields using real robotics, not prepackaged kits.
