Olea Networks Announces New Disaster Recovery Solution
Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 04, 2015 -- Realizing that for certain industries and organizations lacking connectivity—even temporarily—is not an option, Olea Networks has announced the release of a solution package targeted specifically at industries that demand readily deployable communication infrastructure in the advent of an emergency or crisis situation. These fields—such as hospitals, financial institutions, state and local government agencies, as well as construction and manufacturing organizations— rely on connectivity and security to keep their operations running smoothly and without interruption.
Olea Networks’ solution for these customers involves a network of backup LINCWorks units that can instantly create a secure network. When communications infrastructure goes down or an emergency setup needs to be quickly deployed in a non-standard location, the LINCWorks units can connect to local cell towers or, if the cellular infrastructure goes down, can use a satellite signal for connectivity. If multiple LINCWorks units are deployed, using the integrated mesh-networking capabilities, only one needs to have a cellular or satellite connection while the rest relay that signal through a secure, authenticated communications link.
Olea Network’s innovative network configuration creates a secure IPsec tunnel from each deployed Olea LINCWorks to Olea Networks’ central VPN concentrator and back to other LINCWorks units in the network. This feature instantly allows separate Olea devices in the same network to communicate with one another, all while ensuring information security and data transmission. With Olea’s EDGEWorks remote management interface, devices are displayed on an integrated map and can be remotely configured and controlled as part of a well-defined disaster recovery and operational plan.
The LINCWorks units can even detect when the standard network has gone down, and can automatically fire up a backup network in the case of a primary failure. The long-lasting batteries in Olea RDA units and the rugged nature of the devices mean that they can run constantly regardless of weather conditions, and with optional solar panels can run until the normal network infrastructure is back up and running.
