Though local competition is fierce, our support and long-standing customer relationships differentiate Smith, and we’ve seen growth in our customer base and our team. It’s my goal to support this momentum and push for even greater success.
HOUSTON, TX (PRWEB) February 03, 2015
Smith & Associates, the largest independent distributor of electronic components, today announces the appointment of Jennifer Valdovinos to the role of Trading Manager, Guadalajara. In this position, Jennifer will oversee the operation and management of Smith’s Mexico office and engineer strategies for its expansion and development.
Before joining Smith, Jennifer earned her J.D. from the Universidad de Guadalajara and her LL.M. from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. In 2004, she began working at the company’s Guadalajara office as a purchasing agent, before being promoted to buyer in 2007. Shortly after, she transferred to Smith’s Houston headquarters to work in sales, and – in 2012 – moved back to Smith’s Guadalajara location to help expand the office’s local presence. Now, she has taken on leadership of this growing location to help press its expansion even further.
“The last few years have seen a gradual shift of several major OEMs and EMS providers from China to Mexico, making this an important and steadily growing hotbed of industry activity,” said Jennifer. “Though local competition is fierce, our support and long-standing customer relationships differentiate Smith, and we’ve seen growth in our customer base and our team. It’s my goal to support this momentum and push for even greater success.”
“Jennifer has brought industry expertise and a keen talent for supporting customers and nurturing relationships with them into every phase of her sales career,” said Marc Barnhill, Smith’s Chief Trading Officer. “We look forward to seeing how her talents and dedication can help this key office grow.”
