The RejuvaGum Lift will encourage more patients to have their receding gums treated

Using the body’s natural healing processes, Advanced Platelet-Rich Fibrin is derived from the patient’s own blood to speed healing. Dr. Alexandre-Amir Aalam and Dr. Alina Krivitsky of the Center For Advanced Periodontal Treatment and Implant Therapy are the first to be trained in the new procedure.

"Most people don’t know that gum disease is more prevalent than diabetes,” says periodontist Dr. Alina Krivitsky. “And while receding gums are a classic symptom of gum disease and can make a person look older, many patients delay or avoid treatment because they don’t want to undergo painful gum grafting.”

“Now patients have an attractive alternative with the RejuvaGum Lift™, a treatment that uses the body’s natural healing processes to regenerate gum tissue and correct receding gums, all without conventional gum grafting and with less pain and downtime,” says periodontist Dr. Alexandre-Amir Aalam.

Dr. Krivitsky and Dr. Aalam are board certified periodontists at the Center For Advanced Periodontal Treatment and Implant Therapy in Brentwood, CA. The Advanced PRF technique, also named French Gum Rejuvenation™ by the doctors was first developed in France and has been in use for over ten years in Europe.

To begin the RejuvaGum Lift™ procedure the doctors take a small amount of the patient’s blood and spin it in a centrifuge to extract the growth factors, and other components that promote healing. Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) membrane is then fabricated using the clot previously spun in the centrifuge. PRF membranes are then placed and secured facing the exposed roots.

“Patients heal faster, they have less pain and enjoy a smaller chance of infection,” says Dr. Aalam.

“The RejuvaGum Lift™ is an exciting new approach to treating gum recession that will encourage more patients to have treatment, especially those who don’t wish to undergo gum grafting,“ says Dr. Aalam.
