National Study to Focus on Mental Makeup of Female Athletes
CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) February 05, 2015 -- Starting on February 4th, National Girls and Women in Sports Day, The Right Profile will be conducting what it hopes will be one of the largest studies ever of the mental makeup of female athletes. In order to achieve this goal, the company is asking all current and past female athletes age 13 or older to take part in a national women's Athlete Type study. If you are or were a female athlete, you have the power to make athlete development better for all women and girls by participating in this study.
The Right Profile, best known for its work helping professional and college sports programs in the mental evaluation and development of their athletes, is conducting a national study of female athletes, specifically to identify where personality traits and trait patterns of female athletes vary from those of male athletes. The survey uses the same Troutwine Athletic Profile (TAP) assessment which has already been administered to nearly 20,000 elite male athletic prospects for professional football, baseball and basketball.
Although the current national TAP athlete database includes hundreds of women athletes, the TAP’s database of athletes in the NFL®, MLB® and NBA® has resulted in a data collection that is decisively male. It is time to change that. As women athletes contribute to this rich knowledge base, it will help other female athletes and their coaches better understand, coach and develop these athletes at the high school and college level.

The TAP survey is short and should take only 20 minutes to complete. Survey responses identify traits, behaviors and attitudes, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and particularly effective coaching techniques to help each athlete maximize his or her potential.
Each survey participant will immediately receive a personalized TAP Athlete Type Report, including her Athlete Type characteristics, strengths & weaknesses, a list of other prominent athletes of the same Athlete Type, and general tips for the athlete, coach and parent.
TAP survey results are completely confidential – they will not be shared with any coach or anyone else unless the participant chooses to share the report. All data in the study is also aggregated and deindividualized. Results and demographics will be analyzed anonymously for research purposes.
