Motivis Learning to Add Diana G. Oblinger to its Board of Directors
SALEM, NH (PRWEB) February 04, 2015 -- Outgoing EDUCAUSE President and CEO Diana G. Oblinger, Ph.D., will join the Board of Directors of Motivis Learning, the education platform company which recently announced plans for a 2015 commercial launch after building the learning management system for Southern New Hampshire’s University’s competency-based College for America. Oblinger will join the board June 1.
“There are many opportunities for institutions to better serve today’s learners. Traditional approaches and technologies are not enough to enable the flexibility and agility our students and institutions need,” said Oblinger. “College for America is a unique model for higher education; that new model required a new approach to learning management. Motivis was the result. It is very exciting to become part of this innovative organization.”
“Diana’s unique leadership role and deep insight into what academic institutions, businesses, and students need from their technology platforms is unparalleled. She is a perfect match for Motivis’s mission of bringing next-generation, outcomes-based technologies to learning institutions of all levels,” said Motivis Learning Board of Directors Chairman Paul LeBlanc, who also serves as President of SNHU.
Oblinger joins Motivis Learning after more than a decade leading EDUCAUSE, a higher education technology association with over 2,400 colleges, universities, and educational organizations as members. At EDUCAUSE, Oblinger helped build one of the nation’s leading technology conferences, 20 regional annual convenings, and monthly print and online publications. She has also served as chief information officer for the University of North Carolina system, executive director of Higher Education for Microsoft, and IBM Director of the Institute for Academic Technology. Oblinger is a frequent keynote speaker and co-author of the book What Business Wants form Higher Education and previously served on the faculty at University of Missouri-Columbia and Michigan State University.
“Diana is a preeminent leader in harnessing technology to help academic institutions serve student needs, and she will be a tremendous asset as Motivis works with forward-thinking schools and universities to achieve that goal,” said Motivis Learning CEO Brian Peddle.
Motivis Learning launched this past fall to provide next-generation technology for educational institutions, built specifically around learning and student outcomes instead of courses and instruction. The Motivis team is a pioneer in bringing Salesforce-powered Learning Relationship Management systems to K-12 and higher education institutions nationwide, after helping successfully build and launch the learning platform for SNHU’s competency-based College for America.
Motivis Learning’s Learning Relationship Management (LRM) system is a technology platform that elevates the traditional Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems by natively integrating the two roles and centering both around student outcomes.
Built around outcomes, not processes. Instead of legacy LMS platforms designed around courses, credit hours, or instruction, Motivis Learning’s LRM platform is student-centered and data-driven.
First commercial learning management platform built on Salesforce. Motivis Learning’s LRM is built on the powerful and deeply customizable Salesforce.com development platform. More than 1,700 higher education institutions are currently using Salesforce to power their missions – often in admissions and alumni development with a gap in learning management.
Native competency-based education. Motivis learning is the first commercially available education platform built for competency-based education Motivis Learning is currently working in beta with several academic institutions as design partners. The initial Motivis LRM platform will be commercially available later this year. Motivis Learning is an independent business owned by SNHU. The company has secured a $7 million funding commitment from SNHU through 2016.
