Copperstone Inn & Richard Spanton Jr. Was Chosen by Travel Channel for their Hotel Showdown Show
Rockton, IL (PRWEB) February 07, 2015 -- Four hoteliers pack their bags and travel to each other's property judging each one along the way. At the end of the trip, the hotelier with the highest score will win the coveted $25,000 prize.
Dave of Chicago’s boutique Guesthouse Hotel, takes on Rich of quaint Rockton, Ill. sprawling Copperstone Inn, Melanie Jane of Wisconsin’s mid-century cool Holiday Music Motel, and Jeff’s stately Victorian McCormick House Inn in Hayward, Wis. Chicago’s Guesthouse Hotel kicks off the competition in style. This all-suite hotel has a modern design, offering apartment style units and encouraging guests to “live like a local.” After checking out the Guesthouse’s local art gallery, the guest hoteliers are surprised when they find out their dinner will be coming off a food truck.
Next, the group heads to Rich’s massive mecca of amenities and luxury – the Copperstone Inn, located in the quiet countryside of Rockton, Ill. Built around a renovated 1858 farmstead, the property’s vast 130 acres puts the competitors on edge wondering if they can compete against a 5,000-tree organic apple orchard, mini-spa and huge events Pavilion, the Pavilion at Orchard Ridge Farms. Richard Spanton Jr wows his guests with an amazing multi-course dinner and, in the morning, everyone receives treatments at the spa.
Next up is Sturgeon Bay, Wis. for a night at Melanie Jane’s unique budget property, The Holiday Music Motel. Built in 1952, the Classically designed property is all about music, owned and operated by musicians and offering music events and performances. The hoteliers are blown away by the low rates this cool retro motel offers. Later, MJ and her partner treat everyone to a live performance, and they rock the night away at the motel’s private social club and performance space.
The final stop is Hayward, Wis., home to Jeff’s McCormick House Inn – a refurbished Victorian mansion decorated with art collected during Jeff’s world travels. He gives the hoteliers a taste of Hayward’s favorite winter activity, as the rivals face off in a cross-country ski race. To wrap up their evening, the McCormick House comes to life with a cocktail party and gourmet dessert from Jeff’s own ice cream shop.
