SunGard K-12 Education Named a Finalist In 2015 Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service
Bethlehem, Pa. (PRWEB) February 10, 2015 -- SunGard K-12 Education was named a finalist in the ninth annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service. On Feb. 27 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev., the software and technical services provider will be awarded a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie Award in the Innovation in Customer Service – Computer Industries category of the program.
More than 1,900 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were evaluated in this year’s competition. Finalists were determined by the average scores of 139 professionals worldwide, who served as preliminary judges. Entries were considered in 54 categories for customer service and contact center achievements, including Contact Center of the Year, Award for Innovation in Customer Service, and Customer Service Department of the Year; 50 categories for sales and business development achievements, ranging from Senior Sales Executive of the Year to Business Development Achievement of the Year; and categories to recognize new products and services and solution providers.
For many years, SunGard K-12 Education’s Customer Support team has had a comprehensive training and mentoring program to prepare and aid its support team members in providing excellent service to K-12 school districts using the PLUS 360 administrative software. Inspired by its customers’ focus on education and achievement, SunGard K-12 launched an effort in 2014 to develop a formal certification program for support team members who comprise Level One Customer Support, which is the company’s front line of support for school districts.
In preparation for launching the initiative, leadership of SunGard K-12 Education’s Customer Support team collaborated with the company’s Education Team to evaluate the knowledge and problem-solving skills necessary to support the software and to formalize the training process. As the result of their work, a comprehensive curriculum of study has been developed that sets a high standard for excellence for SunGard K-12 Education’s support team members. For a company committed to distinction in customer service, the program provides an opportunity to demonstrate the team’s expertise to SunGard K-12’s customer base.
According to Kathy Hawkes, vice president of support operations for SunGard K-12 Education, the company takes a lesson from the K-12 school districts it serves in launching this initiative. “Our customers expect and deserve excellent customer service from SunGard K-12 and from support team members who they trust and know to be proficient with the software. They also expect and deserve timely, friendly, and helpful responses from our support team members,” explains Hawkes. “This initiative helps our support team members meet those high expectations. SunGard K-12 Education is honored by this international and prestigious recognition of our efforts.”
Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards, said that submissions for this year’s program increased by 27 percent over last year. “The Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service continues to be the fastest growing of our international awards programs,” says Gallagher. “The sheer number of nominations is matched by the increasing quality of those nominations. We congratulate all of this year’s finalists and wish them well in the next phase of judging.”
