“In some respects, our well-heeled patient population and their inherent and unique needs is our specialty. We are fortunate to have interesting and distinguished patients; I cherish the relationships deeply,” said MD² founder Dr. Howard Maron.

Founded in 1996, and credited with pioneering the concept of concierge medicine, MD² will open their 10th medical office this fall and is transforming primary care for affluent families. While most primary care physicians see an average of 20 to 40 patients each day, and are allocated an average of seven to fifteen minutes for each medical examination, MD² envisioned a new model of medicine, specifically designed for their patients, and for physicians.

“It is radically simple. Each physician is retained in advance and limits their practice to 50 select families. This gives them the luxury of time to care for each patient like a cherished aunt or favorite cousin,” says MD² CEO, Peter Hoedemaker. “Time is just so critical. By limiting their total number of families they have the ability to accompany patients to specialist visits, navigate their care through hospital stays and truly research every ache and pain. It’s like having a physician as part of your inner circle, as if they’re a member of your own family.”

MD² currently has nine medical offices in well-travelled cities, with a tenth opening planned in the fall of 2015. This grants their highly mobile patients access to renowned specialists and sought after medical institutions such as New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cedars-Sinai, UCLA and Baylor Medical Center.

MD² physicians have at least 15-20 years of experience, long-standing ties to specialists in their cities and access to major medical arenas. In addition, MD² offices are designed and built specifically to accommodate the lifestyle needs of their families. MD² now has offices in New York, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Menlo Park, Beverly Hills, Portland, Seattle and Bellevue.

“In some respects, our well-heeled patient population and their inherent and unique needs is our specialty. We are fortunate to have interesting and distinguished patients; I cherish the relationships deeply,” said MD² founder Dr. Howard Maron.
