GreenFields of Geneva in Illinois Earns Five-Star Rating From Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
geneva, il (PRWEB) February 05, 2015 -- Briarwood Healthcare Center at GreenFields of Geneva has received the highly esteemed five-star rating from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help older adults, their families and caregivers compare skilled nursing providers. The system gives a rating of 1-5 on health inspections, staffing and quality measures, with one star being well below average and five stars representing much above average. Of the more than 16,000 nursing homes evaluated, only 25% receive the optimal five-star overall rating. GreenFields received the highest positive score in each individual category as well as overall rating.
Briarwood Healthcare Center at GreenFields first opened its doors last year. “We’re pleased, but not surprised that we were able to earn this rating so early on in our existence. We have a strong commitment to excellence and will not accept anything less. And we’re excited to note that we’re the only skilled nursing community in the immediate area to have achieved this rating,” said Judi Donovan, executive director of GreenFields.
Last year, the community also earned accreditation by Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities-Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CARF-CCAC). This prestigious recognition is the result of a very rigorous voluntary survey process. It is awarded to only 15% of the retirement communities nationwide which makes GreenFields part of a very elite group.
