Traveler Guitar, created in 1992 and acquired by rock enthusiast and entrepreneur Corey Oliver in 1995, has provided its clients with the experience of owning and playing high quality travel guitars for over 23 years.

On a visit to Redlands Guitar Shop in the summer of 1995 Oliver discovered ‘The Traveler’, a full-scale travel guitar designed by Redlands engineer Leon Cox. Oliver was inspired to capitalize on the concept and set out to use his business savvy in order to create a brand of travel guitars that not only resonated with great tone, but with its consumers. Oliver’s efforts culminated in the brand now known as Traveler Guitar.

"In the 1990s the concept of a travel guitar was fairly unexplored territory," said Traveler Guitar CEO Corey Oliver. "A few of the big guitar companies had their travel models, but they were mostly afterthoughts, short scale and awkward to play. We focused on making high quality travel guitars that maintain the same full-scale playing experience as a full sized instrument, but in a much more portable package. In my opinion, that’s why the brand has endured."

Traveler Guitar provides their clients, who range from pilots to CEOs to professional musicians, actors and personalities (Emmy Award-winning actor Jeff Daniels, Country superstar Zac Brown, comedian Kevin Nealon, and members of Aerosmith, to name a few) with:

  • The ability to have quality guitar playing experiences everywhere.
  • The security of not having to ‘baggage check’ a guitar and risk it being damaged.
  • The convenience of creating music while traveling for business or pleasure.
  • The benefit of practicing quietly while wearing headphones to eliminate disrupting others.

Traveler Guitars, as well as the brand's bass and ukelele models, are sold nationally and internationally at various instrument and music retailers including Guitar Center and Sam Ash stores across the United States. See a full list of Traveler Guitar retailers here.
