Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) February 11, 2015
TiE Tampa Angel Forum today announced a formal partnership with Florida Funders to further the organization’s mission to invest in early stage companies in the healthcare and technology sectors. The partnership will allow TiE Tampa Angel Forum to take advantage of Florida Funders’ online platform to streamline the investment process, from sourcing potential opportunities, through deal flow, vetting and investment.
TiE Tampa Angel Forum is a “For Entrepreneurs by Entrepreneurs” early stage and growth phase investment group launched to provide Florida entrepreneurs and startups with seed capital, mentoring and support. The organization was designed as a forum where investors are connected to startup companies seeking to raise capital to take their companies to the next level. TiE Tampa Angel Forum envisions a more vibrant, successful Tampa Bay business climate as a result of its efforts to foster opportunity, innovation, and growth in the region.
Ashok Kartham, president of TiE Tampa Bay said, “We are excited to align our organization with Florida Funders since the partnership gives us a stronger, more efficient and ultimately more effective means to accomplish our investment goals”.
Irv Cohen, chair of TiE Tampa Angel Forum agreed, saying, “Florida Funders brings resources which offer TiE Angels improved access to deal flow, systematic due diligence, and consistent portfolio monitoring.”
Florida Funders is the first company in the state designed exclusively to connect accredited investors with startups seeking capital via an online platform. Highly curated early stage companies seeking investment are listed on the Florida Funders website for accredited investors to review. When the company’s desired funding levels are achieved, a special purpose investment vehicle is formed and funds are received and distributed by a third party escrow agent. Florida Funders aims to be an important component of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Florida.
The shared vision of both organizations is to keep home grown entrepreneurs and promising top tier startups here in Florida. In the past, many businesses have been forced to leave the State to secure funding, a problem this partnership hopes to solve. Florida Funders provides the vehicle, through its platform, for early stage companies to gain access to capital, while TiE Tampa Angel Forum delivers the investment funds necessary to fuel their growth and success.
