Matthews, who previously served as chief sales officer with the company, brings to his new position exceptional leadership skills and a passion for championing the customer experience. As MHI Global’s new president and general manager, Matthews’ top priority will be advancing MHI Global’s evolution.

Known for his vision, energy and creativity, Matthews possesses an in-depth knowledge of MHI Global, and understands the science of selling and the practical realities of running a sales organization. Prior to his experience with the company, Matthews demonstrated remarkable leadership in crafting new funnel-management solutions, compensation plans, sales methodologies and more while serving as senior vice president of sales with Aflac, where he led more than 30,000 sales professionals across multiple channels. He also excelled as global sales performance business practice leader at Mercer, where he grew revenue more than 40 percent.
Even outside of his job, Matthews strives to further education around sales. In collaboration with university faculty and administrators, he is working to drive a nationwide effort to incorporate the study of sales into graduate and undergraduate institutions. In addition, he teaches and volunteers as a guest lecturer for a number of universities, including Cornell University and Harvard Business School, and contributes to published academic and industry research on sales strategy and concepts. He is a regular featured speaker at industry events. Matthews holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and an MBA from the University of Chicago, where he graduated with honors.
