Hahnemann University Hospital Chief Financial Officer Richard Imbimbo joins Digital Collaboration Solutions Advisory Board
Boston, MA (PRWEB) February 12, 2015 -- Digital Collaboration Solutions (DCS), a leading consulting and services firm for healthcare provider and patient engagement and care management, today announced the addition of Richard Imbimbo, chief financial officer at Hahnemann University Hospital, to its advisory board. Mr. Imbimbo brings more than 30 years of healthcare industry finance expertise, including senior leadership positions at major U.S. hospitals and health systems.
His current role at Hahnemann, a 496-bed academic medical center in urban Philadelphia, places him at the forefront of a healthcare institution that invests in care coordination solutions to improve provider and patient satisfaction and decrease costs.
Previous to his Hahnemann tenure, Imbimbo served in a variety of healthcare financial leadership positions, including chief financial officer at St. Joseph Medical Center in Maryland and Memorial Heath Systems in Pennsylvania. He also brings extensive healthcare consulting experience. He has consistently employed innovative and effective strategies to help health care organizations operate more efficiently – both for providers and for the patients they treat.
At Hahnemann, Imbimbo plays a pivotal role in their care management and coordination strategy and operations that ensure the hospital’s heart failure patients attend a follow-up visit within five to seven days of discharge. The program, implemented and managed by DCS, is designed to improve patient adherence to the follow-up visits. In addition to improving health outcomes for heart failure patients, the program also cuts 30-day readmissions by more than 20 percent, which lowers Medicare reimbursement penalties at Hahnemann.
“We are extremely pleased and excited to welcome Mr. Imbimbo to our distinguished advisory board,” said Michael Levinger, founder and CEO of DCS. “Efficient care management and coordination is not only important to a hospital’s clinical staff and patients, but also to its financial wellbeing. Mr. Imbimbo’s deep expertise in hospital and health system finances is an invaluable asset in helping DCS develop care management and coordination solutions that benefit all aspects of hospital operations. We are eager to apply his knowledge and insights into our overall strategy and daily operations.”
