HealthPlans.com, one of the most visited independent consumer health insurance sites, according to comScore, today announced the results of a national survey designed to get a snapshot of consumer satisfaction about Obamacare as the second open enrollment period comes to a close. Surveying individuals who had shopped for health insurance between November 15th and December 15, 2014, the “American Sentiments on Open Enrollment” found that consumers generally did not feel there were significant improvements to Healthcare.gov this year, with only 33 percent of respondents agreeing that the website was a better experience than last year.
Additional survey findings highlighted:
- While there have been improvements to Healthcare.gov and more health plan options available to both the covered and the uninsured, 41 percent of republicans who qualify for a subsidy in 2015 still think the ACA should be repealed
- 51 percent of respondents were satisfied with their 2014 health insurance
- Monthly premium still reigns supreme when considering plans with 40 percent of respondents citing it as the most important factor
- There is a shifting trend toward a marketplace culture with regard to health insurance options, with 56 percent of respondents stating they have 5 or more plans available to them
