Colleton River Plantation Club Featured on Cover of 2015 USGA Championship Calendar
Bluffton, SC (PRWEB) March 02, 2015 -- A photo of Colleton River’s Pete Dye Course was chosen for the cover of the USGA Championship Calendar this year. Each course hosting a national championship is featured within the calendar. The coveted spot is, of course, the cover. This year, the cover photograph is the 13th hole at Colleton River’s Dye Golf Course.
The image was taken by a photographer hired by the USGA who spent three days at the Dye course last fall, photographing primarily in the hour after sunrise and before sunset. The cover photo was captured just after sunrise over the Atlantic and is a spectacular photograph.
The calendar is distributed free to a certain level of contributors to the USGA, but is otherwise available for purchase through the USGA web site.
Colleton River Plantation Club was chosen by the USGA to host the 2015 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. This event, involving six days of stroke-play and match play, invites participation from top U.S. and international golfers under the age of 18. The Championship, which will take place from July 20-25, 2015, is viewed to be a path for future golf champions, as evidenced by past winners Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth.
“We are honored to be included in the calendar, but to also have our beautiful community featured on the front cover is a real privilege,” says Tim Bakels, General Manager at Colleton.
