This continued effort to understand the priorities and practices in the global experience conversation reinforces our commitment to build a comprehensive and growing framework of knowledge on improving the healthcare experience for all engaged.

The Beryl Institute and Catalyst Healthcare Research launch the third biennial patient experience study to continue the important research on the state of patient, resident and family experience in healthcare globally. First launched in 2011, this year’s exploration reaches further to gather information about what hospitals, health systems, medical groups, and long-term care organizations are doing to improve the healthcare experience.

“This continued effort to understand the priorities and practices in the global experience conversation reinforces our commitment to build a comprehensive and growing framework of knowledge on improving the healthcare experience for all engaged,” said Jason Wolf, president of The Beryl Institute, “In reaching across the continuum of care and around the world for input, we look to paint a broad and deep picture of the state of experience today.”

The study will determine the individuals responsible for leading patient experience initiatives, the approaches hospitals take to improve patient experience, including the key areas of focus and top priority action items and how patient experience efforts are being measured. The study will also engage healthcare leaders across the continuum to share the challenges and opportunities they are facing and the steps they are taking to address the patient experience. It also invites the perspectives of those receiving care – patients, residents and family members – to provide a full view of this issue.

Those who participate in the survey will have the option to enter a drawing for a free Apple Watch and to opt-in for an early release paper of the findings, highlighting the key results and trends from this research. Initial results of this research study will be announced at The Beryl Institute’s Patient Experience Conference 2015 to be held April 8 – 10 in Dallas.
