Boulder, CO (PRWEB) February 12, 2015
Digital innovation agency MJD announced today it has opened a second office, in Boulder, Colorado, effectively offering its employees the opportunity to work near the beach or in the mountains.
The office will initially be based inside Galvanize on Pearl Street, a popular base for entrepreneurs, developers and tech start ups, and be headed by managing director Jason Van Peeren, who has relocated from MJD’s San Diego headquarters.
The expansion makes sense on numerous levels, explained MJD president Michael Maginnis, “from clients to attitude to how our brand is reflected in the locales we choose.”
The multi-faceted award-winning firm counts the region’s Vail Resorts as a client. It also partners with other outdoor and active lifestyle companies, including eyewear and sports performance equipment and lifestyle manufacturer Oakley, golf club maker Titleist, and sports footwear brand Etnies, among others.
“Boulder has a great energy to it, and draws inspiration from its natural surroundings, but there’s also a vibrant technology and business scene,” said Maginnis. “Where someone chooses to work is a large part of how much they enjoy their work, and we thought offering our employees a choice of near the beach or in the mountains is a pretty good deal.”
Van Peeren compared the Boulder and Denver area’s active lifestyles to San Diego, in that both areas have a number of key outdoor activities that both communities and business grow around. There are also a number of similarities in the business and start-up scenes and both cities are loaded with tech talent to tap into.
“There are a lot of great companies in the Boulder and Denver area, but there’s nobody exactly like us, and we think that puts MJD in a unique position to help companies innovate their products and services,” Van Peeren said. “MJD has repeatedly proven we offer a unique blend of UX know-how, superior creative talent and technology knowledge to deliver compelling and engaging digital products and experiences again and again.”
In just the past several months, MJD delivered mobile apps for a completely overhauled GRAMMY Awards, Stride-Rite’s revolutionary online foot-measurement retail experience RiteFit, and SEGA’s popular interactive experience for its hit Alien: Isolation game, among others.
Van Peeren concluded, “We are actively seeking local tech talent and will name several new hires in the coming months. ”
