We now pre-qualify all the info on each RFP we receive, making sure we get the best info we can from the planner in order to connect them with a venue that will be a good match for their meeting or event.

Numbers are in for 2014, and Unique Venues is celebrating a big victory, reporting its biggest sales leads since the inception of the company thirty years ago. The marketing and membership organization, which connects one-of-a-kind event locations with meeting planners, focused on two key strategies to bring about the results, accounting for a 75% overall increase in leads in 2014.
First was enhancing content on the UniqueVenues.com and UniqueVenues.ca websites, which helped to increase SEO rankings and has further exposed the brand in other online avenues. Second was the expansion of an internal database to now include part-time and specialty planners as well as fine-tuning the company’s referral process.
“We now pre-qualify all the info on each RFP we receive, making sure we get the best info we can from the planner in order to connect them with a venue that will be a good match for their meeting or event,” says Founder Michele Nichols. “Doing so has further leveraged our services and helped us really hone in our service message of connecting non-traditional venues with the organizers who need them.”
The new year also has strong promise. Website traffic to UniqueVenues.com and UniqueVenues.ca had three record days in a row in January, representing an all-time high for the company. Nichols rationalizes it could be a result of the team digging deeper into formerly untapped markets like New Orleans, Dallas, Orlando, Phoenix and Houston: “We are continually looking for ways to improve quality and quantity.”
