Gone For a Run Heading for the New York City Half Marathon
New York, NY (PRWEB) February 13, 2015 -- On March 15, hundreds of New Yorkers will look on as thousands of their neighbors and runners from around the world gather to race in the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon. The 13.1 mile race will have no shortage of participants; last year, more than 20,000 people ran across the finish line. The runners, however, will not be alone in their ambitious trek.
Vendors from around the country (and the world) will gather three days before the race in the Half Marathon Expo in Moynihan Station near Madison Square Garden. From March 12th to the 14th, the expo is open to the public at no cost -- although runners will be required to pick up their race number, technical shirt, and baggage bag at the event. The expo will feature several vendors who will have their products on display. One such vendor, Gone For a Run, will be there for the fifth year in a row.
Gone For a Run will be on hand at the expo behind a 40-foot booth selling their exclusive merchandise, gifts, and apparel, many of which are exclusively designed to be sold at the NYC Half Marathon. From running tees, to running medal hangers, room signs and frames , Gone For a Run offers products that will appeal to the runners' needs and wants both on and off the course.
"The event draws a huge crowd of people composed of those participating in the half marathon and those who aren't," said Ryan Lynn, Director of Marketing at Gone For a Run. "It's a great place to be just to see what's new and exciting in the running world."
Gone For a Run is rather exclusive itself. Besides the NYC Marathon, the company only attends one other running expo, which is (of course) the full NYC Marathon.
When asked why Gone For a Run attends these expos, Lynn explained that the personal connections they make there are invaluable for the online-company.
"We don't always get to meet customers face-to-face," he said. "This is a great way to get immediate response from our customers; it's an intimate way to do business as opposed to online because you get immediate, real-time feedback."
The race will take place in Manhattan. It starts at 7:30 A.M. and stretches from Central Park through Times Square to the South Street Seaport. Registration is open through February 16th.
